How do I find out what school supplies my child needs?

School supply lists vary for each school and grade. Supply lists are sent home with students at the end of the previous school year.

Some schools have their supply lists available online: visit our school directory for links to individual school websites. Lists may be posted in the school's June newsletter, if available online.

For more information, please contact your school the week before classes start.

What school fees am I expected to pay?

Students are to provide their own basic supplies and equipment for their own personal use at school. The district does not charge a fee for any materials or activities that are required for students to successfully complete a course leading to graduation.

For an overview of our school fee policies, download our brochure School Fees in the Surrey School District ( PDF, 88 KB)

More detailed information regarding specific courses or learning activities can be provided by your school principal or teacher.

How do I find my school calendar, such as holidays and pro-d days?

You can view the district calendar for general dates, such as school start dates and holidays. This calendar is based on the Ministry of Education's Standard School Calendar ( PDF) and is followed by all public school district's in B.C.

Individual school calendars, such as professional development days, are established by each school. You can find your school's calendar either on their website or by contacting the school directly. Links to school websites and contact information can be found in our school directory.

How do I register my child in kindergarten or a specialty program?

See the registration page for more information.
